Anniversary: Ana Melciu celebrates 5 years at Adventics / Scan2Lead

This year we’re celebrating a special anniversary: Our valued colleague Ana Melciu has been part of the Adventics/Scan2Lead team for five years! With her passion for sales, her expertise in the trade show industry, and her tireless dedication, Ana has made a significant contribution to our company’s success over the past few years. In this interview, she shares insights into her early days, her biggest highlights, and her vision for the future. A heartfelt thank you, Ana, for your great work and your inspiring personality – here’s to many more successful years!

Ana, congratulations on your 5-year anniversary at Adventics / Scan2Lead! How do you feel after all these years on the team?

Ana: Thank you very much. Even after more than five years at Adventics, I still feel just as comfortable as I did on my first day. We have the nicest coworkers here – they support one another and always have fun together.

Can you tell us a little about how you got started at Adventics / Scan2Lead? What were your first impressions?

Ana: I knew right from my very first interaction with Adventics that this would be a perfect fit. Since I’d already worked at Messe München for years, I had a wealth of industry knowledge. That was a major advantage for the position. What was particularly positive for my start here, though, was the personal chemistry with the management and, of course, with the team members, who supported me from day one. What I still appreciate here is the fact that I can continuously learn a lot from the other team members and also from our managing directors.

What have been your biggest career highlights over the past five years?

Ana: One of the biggest highlights for me was the return of in-person trade shows after the pandemic – the joy and excitement among everyone involved when things finally got back on track.

Otherwise, it was definitely exciting to grow into the role of Senior Account Manager. A position like this in sales was new to me. Over time, it became increasingly clear that this role is a perfect fit for me, since I particularly enjoy working with numbers as well as interacting with customers. I’ve been very pleased to have secured numerous new events for the use of Scan2Lead over the past 5 years.

I also really enjoy working with all of our trade show organizers. Plus, just like back then, I still enjoy the opportunity to distribute digital products.

Which trade show(s) do you have particularly fond memories of? Were there any special experiences or challenges that have stuck with you?

Ana: I love all of our trade shows… Some that have particularly stuck with me include AGRITECHNICA, bauma, EuroShop, drupa, and The Smarter E Europe. My favorite trade shows are often the ones where exhibitors are particularly tech-savvy and take lead tracking seriously. At the same time, it’s always a highlight when exhibitors who have previously worked exclusively with analog methods switch to digital lead tracking for the first time. I especially appreciate it when they take the time to thoroughly understand Scan2Lead in advance and prepare their sales teams as effectively as possible.

What makes working in sales at Adventics / Scan2Lead special for you?

Ana: For one thing, I really identify with our product, Scan2Lead. And I love working with people from a wide range of industries and helping them achieve successful trade show appearances through the use of Scan2Lead. The abundance of positive feedback from our customers is a constant source of motivation – not just for me, but for our entire company. Here, I also have the opportunity to optimize or design work processes, contribute ideas, and actively participate in the further development of our solutions. I find it particularly fulfilling when my suggestions are implemented directly and create real added value both internally and for our customers. This combination of creative freedom, direct customer contact, and the opportunity to achieve tangible results is what makes working in sales at Scan2Lead so special to me.

This combination of creative freedom, direct contact with customers, and the opportunity to create real value through tangible results inspires me anew every day.

When you look ahead to the next five years, what are your goals, both personally and professionally?

Ana: I want not only to remain a reliable partner for our existing customers, but also to tap into new markets and industries. Personally, my goal is to continue developing my skills in sales and to take customer service and satisfaction to the next level through innovative approaches.

What trends or developments in the event and trade show industry are you following particularly closely, and how do they influence your work?

Ana: AI is everywhere these days – including, of course, in the trade show industry – and is playing an increasingly important role, whether in process automation, the analysis of visitor data, or personalized engagement with trade show attendees. These developments open up new opportunities to make trade show appearances even more efficient and successful. For my work, this means staying up to date so I can provide our clients with the best possible advice and offer them innovative solutions, such as AI-powered analytics or tools for their trade show appearances.

What does the term “customer satisfaction” mean to you, and how do you help ensure it?

Ana: Customer satisfaction has always been a top priority for me. I always give 100% – and more – for our customers. I also make sure they can rely on us and that they benefit from super-fast service whenever possible. Warmth and authenticity should also come first; all customers should feel that they are taken seriously.

For me, customer satisfaction isn’t just a goal – it’s an attitude that I put into practice in every interaction with a customer.

How important is teamwork to you in sales, and what do you particularly appreciate about your team at Adventics / Scan2Lead?

Ana: It’s incredibly important. Here at Adventics, we support each other every day and can always count on one another. We have a lot of fun together, which always helps.
